21.02.12 Learning Rooms free talk at Education Show
Learning Rooms is Gratnells new project which aims to give primary school teachers a useful resource to create the best possible learning environment in the classroom.
We have teamed up with Educational Expert Roger Cole to produce aids for teachers to explain in detail how school furniture and storage impacts on learning and can create the ideal environment in which to give the children you teach the best possible chance for academic and social success.
Research from around the word shows that the physical setting and arrangement of a classroom can have a profound effect on the way children learn, play and interact with each other. And how they relate to the teacher.
Get it right, and children will engage in the learning process at the highest level. Get it wrong, and no amount of technology or curricula changes will improve matters. In fact, studies show that a poor classroom layout can actually hinder whatever benefits such other attempts at improvement might bring
Roger will be giving a talk at the Education Show highlighting some of the best practices. If you're at the show come along and watch the talk, it's free to attend. 'Teaching and Learning for the next Decade' will be on Thursday 15th March from 2.00-2.45pm. You don't need to book, but the show organisers do recommend you turn up a few minutes early to make sure you get a space.
